On November 22, the varsity boy’s basketball team arrived to school dressed in formal attire as they had lent their own red jerseys for the day to the teachers, in an effort to show appreciation for the teachers hard work and dedication.

As a previous coach of Tarpon Springs High School, English teacher and basketball coach, Mr. Jim Margarella initiated this particular tradition after a fellow friend and coach sparked this idea.

“I figured it was one way to express our gratitude for the faculty at CCC.  It’s a thank you from all of the players for all that they’ve done,” said Mr. Margarella.

Spanish teacher Margaret Carrington, English teacher Mrs. Anita Huenke and math teacher Mrs. Skylar Robey were some of the few selected teachers.  During each home varsity boy’s basketball game, a teacher will be honored by a student and receive flowers and recognition from the crowd.

“I chose Mrs. Weber because no matter how my day’s going or what’s happening, she’s always in the front office willing to talk.  She’s extremely supportive and caring to every student at CCC, and I’m glad to have her here.  She’s always helpful and understanding to myself and my classmates, and she has been a big part of why high school has been so enjoyable,” said senior Brendan Klovekorn.
