Young artist draws inspiration from beyond her time

British singer–songwriter Adele released her second album 21 in the United States on February 22, 2011.  This album was received well all around America and brought Adele to record breaking success both in England and the United States.

In 2008, Adele came out with her first album, 19, and got a lot of recognition for it in both countries.  Adele won the awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 2009 Grammy Awards.

21 debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in the United States.  The album spent numerous weeks at number one and it also charted number one in eighteen different countries including the United States, Australia and Europe.

Adele’s genre is a combination of soul, country soul, blues and pop.  Her album’s sound is classic but it also consists of some contemporary roots and country music.  Adele’s music has a very distinct sound to it, making it much more unique than many other artists today.

To promote her album, 21, Adele had a live tour in May 2011 that sold out in the United States.  In August 2011, Adele announced that she is in the process of writing songs for her next album.   She does not want this next album to be a big production.  Instead, Adele wants it to be mainly acoustic and piano.  Also, she wants to write, record, and produce the album all by herself.

“Adele is simply too magical to compare her to anyone,” AllMusic wrote about the 23 year old British singer–songwriter.  She also influences many other artists including Beyonce Knowles who said that Adele was one of her primary influences for her fourth album.

Adele’s second album, 21, was amazing to listen to.  She has a great voice and all of her songs balance deep meaning and catchy beats. Some of the songs are fast and make you want to sing and dance along.  But some are slower and much more relaxing.  One thing all of the songs have in common are good meanings, generally about relationships.

She has made an impact on so many people already with her voice and she hasn’t even been in the music world for very long…I’m sure there is much more to come from her in the future.

I think she has some great music, but they over play her songs so that listening to her is annoying.
