About

The Central Voice Online is updated weekly by Clearwater Central Catholic High School, 2750 Haines Bayshore Road, Clearwater, FL, 33760. Advertising rates are available upon request.

Mission: Our mission is to bring lively articles that focus on the news values of currency, proximity, human interest, novelty, celebrity and conflict while adhering to high journalistic ethical standards. We believe in the maxim, “fair and balanced,” and through a mix of informative, creative and entertaining articles, we strive to produce something that everyone in the school community can enjoy.

Description: The online edition is created by students in the Journalism 1, Journalism 2 Honors and Journalism 3 Honors classes. Stories and images are posted three times per week, and sections are addressed in a rotating fashion. Polls are updated once a week, and comments are managed by the editorial board. Participating students fullfil the roles of editor-in-chief, online editor, section editors, assistant editors and staff writers. Students who desire to take part in either the print or online editions of The Central Voice are invited to enroll in Journalism 1 next school year. Students who have already taken Journalism 1 but who are not currently enrolled in the journalism program may act as freelance writers. Guest writers may contribute based on writing samples provided. All readers are invited to leave comments throughout the site; however, all comments are subject to editorial approval.
